Is strawberry banana Dunkin Donuts smoothie healthy? Compared to McDonald’s smoothies they have slightly more calories per serving due to increased sugar content. However, small portion of strawberry banana smoothie will cost you around 200 calories which still makes a perfectly acceptable snack calorie-wise. Its low-fat, but unfortunately also low in fiber contents, but offers an impressive vitamin C amount of 56% of daily recommended intake.

You have to decide for yourself if that much sugar is right for you, or make a slightly less sugar-packed version of it at home by modifying the original recipe. If you’ve come to like the original sugary taste, you may want to replace some of it with artificial sweeteners that would help you to retain the sweetness while at the same time controlling carbs.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 50 g sugar or substitute to taste
  • 5-8 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Cut strawberries into smaller chunks.

  2. Peel banana and cut them into 3-4 pieces.

  3. Place all ingredients into a bowl, puree till smooth.

Recipe Notes

Whole or soy milk can be used to further improve taste.
Ice cubes increase thickness of the smoothie. Instead, frozen bananas and strawberries can be used.
