Every day I take care of my body and do remember that my youth will not last forever, that is why I should watch my ration and include more fruits and vegies. The problem is that sometimes it is not convenient to consume too much foods and the time often restricts. You know I have no possibilities to spend hours in my kitchen, that is why smoothies are the best solution for me. They are rich in vitamins and minerals, full with fiber and cooked during five minutes or so.  This is an easy and fast way to swallow a couple of fruits, some greens, seeds, a cup of yogurt and some other liquid that is extremely beneficial. I feel comfortable and satisfied after a glass of a smoothie in the morning. It fills me up with energy, and again my full but nut overloaded stomach is grateful.

I should confess that I am a candy girl. I prefer desserts and sweet cocktails. That is why usually I choose the sweet fruits and juices for my smoothie adding perhaps oats, honey, and yogurt. But greens are so good for our health that I change my attitude and use them as often as possible. Firstly, it is easy to consume more greens blended in a glass of smoothie. Secondly, I feel much better with the greens charging me like nothing else.

And the most nutritious and commonly used greens is spinach providing antioxidant support for you without impacting too much on the tastes of other ingredients. So you can take full-flavored orange and forget about the fact that the spinach in your drink. It offers just slight freshness and beautiful green color that is good in particular when mixed with white. I like combining the colors being almost a painter.

You can take yogurt or kefir here but the recipe offers coconut water and I agree that this is the best choice to make the smoothie thinner and the taste more interesting. It will add potassium and hydrate your organism very well. Even if you control your weight you can take coconut water because it low in calories.

So, if you are going to start with green smoothies, try spinach because the other greens can change the taste of your beverage greatly. Besides, it contains plenty of carotenoids and the vitamin of youth – C. The vitamin K in it helps to produce proteins needed for blood. In this product we also have folic acid, calcium, and iron. The oranges just enhance the above properties improving your mental function. These components are considered as ones of the most influencing anti-cancer foods. I am always take the fresh oranges and squeeze them to prepare the fresh juice. But when you are in a hurry, of course, you are free to decide and apply the artificial one remembering that the benefits are reduced in this case.

In order to make the consistency of this smoothie creamy and thick just add banana. I peel it, but if you want more fiber just wash thoroughly and put in your blender as it is. This fruit is the source of potassium – microelement, which does support your heart, and vitamin B6 for your liver, brain. It is involved in building of bleed cells and improves the skin, hair and vision.

It is good to add hemp seeds – a great source of protein. In general, you can add them everywhere: to salads, desserts, and your favorite smoothies.

Ingredients

  • 1 peeled orange
  • 0.5 banana
  • 60 ml coconut water
  • 250 ml baby spinach
  • 15 ml hemp seeds
  • 2 cubes of ice

Instructions

  1. Take a blender, add all ingredients wand blend until everything is nicely combined. You can add more coconut water to make a consistency more watery. Pour into glasses and enjoy a delicious smoothie.

Recipe Notes

As you see in recipe you are offered to add cubes of ice, but this is not a must, of course. If you like the drinks of room temperature, you can do without the ice. The mentioned dosage is important but you can experiment as I always do. Remember that the best balance is 2 parts of spinach and 1 part of oranges. That is what I like, but try as you want. The spinach is good with carrots and blueberries but they will dominate in the taste covering all other ingredients.
