Mango coconut smoothie

Frozen fruits such as bananas are usually great for smoothies but could make the texture too thick. So adding some coconut water or coconut milk will not only enrich your drink with a subtle nutty flavor but also give it perfect and smooth texture.

Coconut water is a great source of nutrition and it is known to battle diabetes as it reduces the sugar levels and regulates blood pressure. It contains approximately 600 milligrams of potassium (12 percent daily value), making it a high electrolyte beverage.

People of tropical countries have been using coconut meat and water to treat health issues for centuries. Coconut water is best consumed when it comes directly from coconut, so if you have a supply of coconuts just keep them in the fridge and use when required. Although many brands offer bottled coconut water, make sure you check the label as it may contain extra sugar or artificial flavoring.
