We should say that Teriyaki sauce can be done for various foods like wild salmon, tuna, trout, or other fish. You can try it also with pork, lamb, beef and chicken, which is the main character of our today’s recipe. It is super easy and has a superb taste.

The particular cooking technique is developed in Japan and means that you should cook the foods with a glaze that is made of soy sauce, sugar, ginger, and mirin or sake – more popular name.

Even if you are not fond of Asian cuisine, you’ll appreciate this marinade. When it soaks the whole composition of meat and veggies during half an hour as minimum, you can cook it and enjoy the marvelous result. The quantity of the sauce depends on your preferences. If you want to have it thick and sticky, you should cook it longer, and vice versa.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds chicken breast, chopped
  • 12-16 oz fresh broccoli
  • 2 pieces garlic cloves
  • 4-5 large carrots, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Teriyaki sauce

  • 2 tbsp ginger, chopped
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • 3-4 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar

Instructions

  1. Start with the Teriyaki sauce. Take a bowl and add all the ingredients into it, mix thoroughly. 

  2. Take a small sauce pan and put it over the medium to low heat. 

  3. Cook the ingredients during about 5 minutes until the sauce get thick. You should stir it often.

  4. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside. 

  5. When the sauce gets cool, pour it into a glass container and put into the refrigerator.

  6. Ake a large skillet, put it over the medium heat, pour the olive oil into it.

  7. Add the chicken and carrots into the skillet.

  8. Cook the meat with veggies for about 8 minutes stirring them from time to time.

  9. When the ingredients become almost tender add the garlic and stew them during a minute.

  10. Meanwhile put the broccoli on a microwave dish and cook for 6 minutes or take a pan, pour some water into it, add broccoli and boil until it is soft. The time should be adjusted to the situation. 

  11. Now add the prepared Teriyaki sauce to the chicken and carrots and continue cooking during about a couple of minutes. The sauce should be thick enough or as you like. 

  12. Remove the pan from the heat and add the broccoli. Combine all the ingredients with a spoon.

Recipe Notes

This dish is good with rice or noodles. If you want you can increase the quantity of the Teriyaki sauce.
