Kiwi spinach smoothie

Kiwi and spinach smoothie is a green smoothie one of its kind! First of all, it is green, and secondly, if it’s done right you would not feel the spinach in it, while getting all the benefits from this healthy drink! Spinach haters could relax: I have made an experiment offering this freshly blended beverage to my husband one morning who (is not allergic to spinach, of course not!) hates it since his childhood where he’d been forced to consume his daily norm of vegetables by overprotective mother.

So, back to the topic, he didn’t realize there was any spinach in it, and of course I didn’t tell him! You have to trust me on this one: never add into spinach smoothie any celery; it would ruin the taste completely!

Kiwi spinach smoothie

Spinach and kiwi blended into perfection for a healthy breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 2 peeled kiwi
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 10 ice cubes
  • 1 peeled banana

Instructions

  1. First use boiling water on kiwis and then peel them with you fingers or alternatively you can peel them with a knife, but this will take slightly longer.

  2. Cut kiwi, spinach and banana into smaller chunks

  3. Place all the ingredients into the bowl and blend to perfection.

Recipe Notes

Apple juice can be replaced with cider for extra thickness.

Vanilla yogurt can be replaced with pretty much any flavor that goes with other ingredients.
