This is a very cheesy casserole that’s very versatile. The ingredients can be easily changes to satisfy your taste buds. They are very affordable and easy to find – you probably have many of them in your kitchen. All you need to get is several types of cheese, potatoes and eggs and you have a flavorful meal. You don’t have to use any special equipment. You can make more of it by doubling the ingredients and cooking the casserole in 2 separate baking dishes.

This is a very cheesy casserole that is surprisingly good for your healthy. It's very easy to cook and really satisfying to eat. Your body will thank you for cooking this. The casserole requires an hour of your time. You can always meal prep the ingredients for an effortless dinner.

  • 1 stick butter, divided
  • 8 ml baking powder
  • 450 potatoes, diced
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 8 eggs, large
  • 8 ml salt
  • 8 ml black pepper
  • 200 ml basil leaves
  • 3/4 pound grated Gruyere cheese
  • 80 ml flour


  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Fry the potatoes until cooked, which is about 15 minutes. Take a dish and melt more butter in the microwave.

  2. Take a bowl and mix the rest of the ingredients except flour. When everything is combined. Sprinkle it with the flour and stir into the first mixture.

  3. Pour the mixture over the potatoes. Place the pan in the oven. Bake the casserole for 50 minutes. It should be puffy and brown. Insert the knife in the middle, it should come out clean. Serve immediately or refrigerate for 3 days.
