I’ve always said that smoothie can be made almost of any products, which can be turned to liquid. Though, of course, if you make puree of the vegetable rich in fiber, you will hardly get the needed consistency. In this case you are expected to add something like yogurt. But as to me I do not want diary every day, that is why I often make smoothie using tea and even coffee. Believe me, this is yummy! Recently I have found out about the Japanese tea Matcha. And now I am looking for the recipes only with it. Here one of the most interesting formula when all ingredients complement each other in a proper way allowing to reach the perfect taste.

If you do not know this tea, I will tell you about it a little bit. Matcha is green tea of the highest quality. Only young leaves are taken which are rich in nutrients. They are grounded into fine powder and marketed. You should just add hot water just under a boil to a cup with this powder and enjoy. As a result, you get a tea of bright green color with strong antioxidant properties. If you want to provide that unique shade, you should keep the powder away from oxygen and direct sunlight. We are not in Japan that is why forget about the centuries-old ceremonies and brew it as you want still following the common recommendations. Though if you want, you can use a bamboo whisk in order to make the beverage frothy. But when you will blender all the ingredients, you will lose this effect so why should you waste your time?

So, what do you get, drinking the smoothie made on the basis of Matcha? First, you boost metabolism and loose excess pounds. You will feel relaxed getting calm even after a difficult day full of stress. Moreover, it is packed with vitamins, selenium, fiber, chlorophyll, zinc, chromium, and magnesium being able to prevent a range of diseases. If you have problems with blood sugar or cholesterol, it will lower the level.

And what about taste? I adore it. You know, even if you are not a great lover of green tea, you will appreciate this rich and complex flavor with particular sweetness you find after drinking. Of course when it is made following all the ceremonial stages, the unique shades of taste come to light but this is the topic for the other article. Here the general idea will be enough to make the right choice.

Well, but this ingredient is not the only one. I am taking kefir without any flavor and mix it with orange juice. Of course, if we speak about the health benefits, you should make the fresh orange juice, but when I am in a hurry, I take the packed one. Here I put matcha powder and now you’ll be surprised – kale leaves come. This vegetable delivers iron, calcium, beta-carotene, dietary fiber, and vitamin C. And to make it delicious I take peaches and mango with stunning pronounced flavor and their health benefits. Peaches are full of vitamins E and K – very good for your skin. As to mango it contains antioxidant zeaxanthin protecting your eyes. This fruit is good for your heart, bone health and digestion.

The both fruits required in this recipe are very juicy, so if you want, you can reduce amount of orange juice – add only half a cup for example. Actually I change the dosage of every component almost every time I make this smoothie but in order to understand the original taste, you’d better start sticking the formula.

Ingredients

  • 125 ml kefir, flavorless
  • 250 ml orange juice
  • 1 ml matcha tea powder
  • 375 ml organic mango, chopped
  • 250 ml sliced peaches
  • 250 ml kale leaves

Instructions

  1. Take a blender and mix all ingredients together. The texture should be creamy and smooth. Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Though, I spent so many of your precious time describing the Matcha, you are free to replace it with regular green tea – taking into account the number of ingredients you won’t be able to understand all the peculiarities of the taste of Japanese product. But remember that Matcha makes the smoothie much healthier and provides the unique bright green color.
