  • 6 slices bread cubed
  • 1 lb sausage browned and drained
  • 2 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 8 piece large eggs
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pepper to taste


  1. Take the bread cut in cubes and spread it evenly on a bottom of a baking dish of 9×13 inch size.

  2. Now make a layer of the sausage and cheese and spread it thoroughly over the bread.

  3. Take a large bowl and crack eggs into it, add milk, dry mustard. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Stir the ingredients.

  4. Now the egg mixture should be spread over the dry components arranged in the pan.

  5. Cover the pan with a film and put it in the refrigerator to cool overnight.

  6. In the morning preheat the oven to 325 degrees F and place the pan in it.

  7. Bake during about 50 minutes. The eggs must set. You’d better control the dish though checking the mass with a fork or knife.

  8. When it is done, you should remove it from the heat and serve warm. Enjoy the current moment.

Recipe Notes

It is one of the numerous variants of casserole with sausage. It demands some efforts as to stew or fry the ingredients in the skillet first, then leave them in a baking dish to stay for a night, and only after these two stages you can bake the meal just before serving. It seems that it is a little bit difficult, but indeed it takes too little time to do all that preparation.
