Bacon Egg Burrito

Have you ever tried burrito? This is a dish made of bacon, eggs and cheese and any ingredients you prefer but the key component is a flour tortilla rolled with the chosen filling inside it.

What is tortilla? It is a flat bread made of corn or wheat flour and some additional ingredients. It prevents you from using flatware and at the same time you will not soil your hands with meat or sauce wrapped in it. You can eat burrito even walking, it’s really great!

If you have a busy morning, burrito is the best solution! Just prepare some of them beforehand, put them into a fridge or even freezer for a longer maintenance, and when the time is right, take one, heat it and eat it with pleasure! We should be gratitude to that guy who came up with the idea of using a tortilla as a wrapper for food. This is a convenient way to get a snack equal to the healthy and nutritious breakfast. Now we are going to pull together bacon, eggs and chees arranging them after Mexican manner.

  • 6 slices center cut bacon
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/2 cup Almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup 2% cheddar cheese shredded
  • 6 whole grain tortillas


  1. Take a large skillet and grease it with butter or spray with cooking spray. 

  2. Put it on the stovetop and place the bacon into it. Cook it over medium heat for about a couple of minutes on each side. The slices must become crispy. 

  3. Remove bacon from heat and drain them on a paper towel.

  4. Take a mixing bowl and crack eggs into it, add egg whites, milk and mix all the components. 

  5. Pour egg mix into the skillet where you cooked bacon and cook over medium heat. They’ll be ready when become fluffy.
  6. Sprinkle the scrambled eggs with cheese and remove from heat.
  7. Now take the tortilla and put it on a countertop and put 1/2 cup of the cooked eggs, cheese mixture and a piece of bacon on it. Roll the tortilla with the filling tucking the sides in so that the ingredients do not spill out.

  8. If you are going to freeze it, let burritos get cool at room temperature and wrap it in a cling film. Individually. Or eat it right then.

  9. Before serving warm the burrito for about 40 seconds in microwave.

Though, burrito is not as popular as chilli for example but it is a true part of the culinary specialties of Mexico being traditional dish spread all over the world. It was invented in 1910 when Mexican revolution occurred and one producer of food with enterprising nature used tortilla for wrapping the food for people wishing to have a bite in the street. Now all of us have such a simple and convenient.
